    Smile camping/cabins

Am planning on camping or renting a small cabin on a lake or river/creek the first week in June. Any direction within an hour or two of Anchorage will do. Would prefer a lake, but river may do as well. I'm not really that picky. Although I've lived in Alaska nearly 20 years, I don't have a lot of first hand experience in that part of the state. Any helpful reccommendations and information on accomodations, fishing and biking would be helpful.

Nancy Lake State Recreation Area in Willow.

You can reserve (if any are available) a state cabin on one of the lakes in the Rec Area. These cabins are very basic--really more like plywood tents with windows and a stove. Plywood bunks, so bring a sleeping pad.

If you're looking for something more comfortable google -cabin rental willow ak- there are a few B&B type places in the area that rent cabins.

There is also a canoe rental vendor (It used to be Tippecanoe)
