Two separate organizations, both representing trappers and trapping interests on a state and national level. The AFTA meets in Palmer at the Palmer library, 7 pm the first Tuesday of each month, September through May. Both organizations have members that belong to the other organization and the two organizations try to work together for the greater good when it comes to BOG trapping-related issues. As stated by Buckwild, both organizations hold trapping schools and provide seminars to the public when requested. ATA is affiliated with the National Trappers Association and AFTA is affiliated with Fur Takers of America (FTA).
