    Question Meat storage?

I'll be doing a backpack hunt this spring for blackbear and I was wondering; what do you all do to store your meat when you've packed in and there are no trees in the area?

    Thanks,

    ~Jon

    Jon,

One of the keys to proper meat care is air circulation. This is the reason you hang meat in the field; to dry the surface by providing air circulation around it.

You can achieve the same thing in areas with no trees by piling up brush and placing the meat atop the pile. I've done this many times and it works well.
