    Default Auger Bit

I am wondering if anyone has used there ice auger power head with a dirt auger to make holes for cabin pilings. If you have any ideas or knowledge about where/who makes dirt auger bits. How well it worked. Any place in Ak that sells them. looking for a 10 inch bit.

    Thanks.

I drilled about 20 holes with my ice blades (10") then put new blades on for ice, that was sandy soil with few rocks though. Didn't hurt the auger or bit, just rounded the edge of the blades.

Any tool rental place will have post hole augers. Any tool dealer will be familiar with them as well. The powerheads and transmissions are considerably heavier duty than an ice auger.
