Thread: Favorite Game Animal to Eat

Default Favorite Game Animal to Eat

Just thought i would see how everyone felt about the many types of game we have in Alaska. It's more of a pole to see what everyone thinks. Since i started the thread I might as well throw my two cents in.
My favorite Alaska game is either Spring black bear or Caribou. I really like the bear in a suasage and or a roast. And for the caribou, just good old breaded and pan fried. I have smoked both and find that to be very good as well.
So lets see what you guys/gals think? Feel free to descirbe how you like to cook it if you wish.

I second that, closely followed by Dall sheep straps, then the deer's liver.

You are absolutly right. Nothing taste better than wild game after a hard days hunt.

How can you be so inconsiderate towards your fellow hunters? I won't be able to stop thinking about moose tenderloin all day!!!!

Seriously though, it's hard to beat spring black bear.

Not to hijack the thread here, I just wanted to point out that
"Natures Supermarket" would be a hellava good name for the new food forum! You should morket it down in the G.D. forum.

I love grouse, but some good sausage, either bou or bear, is also hard to beat. Also love fresh dolly varden, fried over a campfire with butter.
