Thread: Goose Bay?

    Default Goose Bay?

    Gents,
I live 10 miles from Goose Bay but have never hunted it. Any and all pointers on access, spots, techniques...etc would be very greatly appreciated. Anyone willing to let me tag along on a hunt? If it involves a lot of hiking I can't do it. I have a messed up back. I'm just looking at more options other than the flats and Maude.

    Thanks,
    JM

Every guy that I know that hunts there does a lot of hiking and jump shooting. Two brothers years and years ago built a blind way out in the middle, but its a long hike out there. Some times the birds will fill the place up due to no pressure. There is one easy access point near the air port. Other points are around but you have to find them along the back roads and driveways along the edges.

i have considered trying to access it on a incoming tide by boat, maps show a drainage down the middle, and right below the airport there is a road going to the water where i have seen boat trailers parked, and assume boats launched, but a very steep bank, kinda shy about using that route. would love to find a place to dump in a boat within running distance and explore that option. i know the place holds lots of birds. Thanks! You can't get much better than GPS coordinates. I'll check it out.

    Good shooting,
