Are you hand loading or buying regular factory boxed ammo? Either way, go for a bullet with good density or a monolithic. Some usual suggestions are Barnes TTSX or TSX, Trophy Bonded Bear Claw, Nosler Partition, Nosler E-tip, Hornady GMX, Winchester XP3.

For what it's worth, my wife and I both have taken Kodiak brownies with 300WM Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets that performed extremely well.

I use a 180 gr nosler accubond. but I reload my own ammo. I would recommend if you dont reload to buy a few boxes of some high end brands and see which your gun likes best.

There is no way in hell I would use that bullet on a brn bear just a glorified nosler ballistic tip... By the time you get done buying hi end ammo you could buy a reloading kit... Me I would try some nosler partitions or the Barnes tsx. Federal and nosler have factory ammo available for the partition, think federal has the tsx available as well.

Go get some vortex 180 grain barnes tipped tsx's. That is all you will need.

I would stick with the good old Nosler Partition in a 200 or maybe 220grn bullet. They have NEVER failed me yet. Should be able to find them in a factory load with out too much trouble if you dont reload.

Federal does a load for the 300 Winchester Magnum that has a 200 grain Trophy Bonded Bear Claw.
Those should do the job nicely and your local dealer can order them for you.

Federal makes a 200g. Trophy Bonded Bear Claw and a 180gr Accubond load for the .300WM....I'd think either would suffice.

With maybe a few exceptions, I'd be comfortable with any 180+ grain factory load in a 300 Winchester Magnum, if only because I've seen brown bears die easily with good hits from what many will call marginal cartridges. To be specific, having seen more than my share of brown bear fatalities the most significant was a 300 WM shooting factory 200 grain A-Frames I'd not hesistate on the biggest boy in the alders with this load.
