    ... staying posted.
Couldn't make it out today. Had to rescue a few buds from the Deshka last night.

Total bust! Went with duckslayer56 who bit his first duck head, while eating a sandwich. Not many ducks, too much water and too many places for them to hide. We would have limited out on geese first thing in the morning if we didn't leave the shotguns in the boat. Found some decent wind and some decent waves, little bit of rain but not bad. Any day on the water is better than a day sitting at home or at work!

I wouldn't say it was a total bust. We got to find some potential new spots to hunt, I got to shoot a greater scaup, and a bufflehead. I rarely shoot those in the spots I hunt. And finally got to get close to some geese. And most importantly I got to try out the head biting technique, and found out that it's legit!

We will get them next time, those geese better watch out!

I think I looked even funnier with a sandwich in one hand and a duck in the other. And I was chewing on the duck. Goes to show people what I think about processed food! If Ak_Marine would send me that picture I would greatly appreciate it....!

Bud, It works pretty well, I think it may even work better than the head smack.

so the close up pic i saw of joe shows the bill right in the mouth and biting like across the forehead, i will try that if i ever don't kill a bird clean again. blood no problem, just don't like haveing a bunch of loose feathers in my mouth to spit out, reminds me of spitting out curly hair. Here's Duckslayer trying out some new foods once he decided he wanted something a little tastier than a pre-prepared gas station sandwich. I tried it out today on a widgeon Duckslayer shot... I dont think I did it right though, I got eye boogers and blood when I chomped down... it was like biting a small balloon full of warm crunchy stuff!

You gotta fold the head the right way! What is it with duckslayer56 & gas station sandwiches?

Bend the neck forward touching beak to throat and bite the base of the skull.
It's not skybusting if you fold em'.

Bud, There were no problems with feathers on the 3 birds I have bitten now. The feathers on the head are attached pretty well. Just bite until you feel a crunch...I would stop at that point. You should get a pic of yourself doing it for the first time. The facial expressions are priceless!
