    Default Pws deer 2012

Do you guys think it's worth hunting this year. 3 of us planning first weeks d in October I'm hoping it won't be too diss appointing. Any advice or tips we've never hunted there but spent lots of time fishing out of Whittier this summer. Thanks

I'm not too sure how it's going to be out there, but I'm going to be checking out anyway. Hoping to head out in November when there is a little more snowfall.

I'm hoping on another november deer hunt this year myself. A year without any deer hunting would suck!

There were a lot of dead deer in the sound this spring, started dropping like flies in March. I saw quite a few on the beaches, multiples on a lot of them.

50% die off is what I've heard. Have talked to several pilots who fly the area regularly- Hinch, Montague and they are reporting dismal #'s...the deer cylce is a vicious one, couple decent winters and they'll bounce back, hopefully.
