    Default glacier deer

so just read an interesting arcticle on adn that a "glacier deer" was spotted down in southeast. I have to admit I really know nothing about them and thought I ask if anyone on here has ever seen them..

One member shot one awhile back. Kinda a light grey color. He posted pictures on here somewhere.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

That's not an albino either, that is just too cool! Never heard of one before but that is a pretty colored coat! Thanks for posting.

happens here and there sometimes, supposed to be super bad luck to shoot one something about the spirits of deer past coming back and ruining your hunting

Where did you find that pic Stid ?

Exotic as all get out, are they found in the Glacier Bay area, similar to the Bears?

    Or just a color variation
i wonder if any have been seen around PWS or Kodiak

appears even the antler velvet is different coloring

Cool pic. I bet it stills tastes the same as the rest of them. Would make a neat mount, for sure.

The coloring is a recessive genetic trait.

Here was the article on it Btw

Haven't seen any unique color phases on Chichagof, haven't heard of anyone spotting one locally either. Would looove to stumble across one someday.

Oh man.........shooting one of those would be just as bad as shooting that albino moose down at Delta....................wouldn't it?

Is Martentrapper...... saying a meat hunter should pass and go hungry...... rather than kill a deer to feed himself and his family?

Probably more like, Shoot the Deer in front of the Exotic one, take a picture of the Blue/Gray one

I know I'd probably let the Albino Moose walk on by, figure I'll get another chance at something later

I mean, heck, you'd be explaining forever, if you had a head mount of that Bluetail Deer on your wall,
might as well have the Scientific Explanation Paper framed and mounted right underneath it

Now a Glacier Bear,...wouldn't take an extra step alive, in front of my rifle sights
not sure if I have any explanation for that
