Call Trapper Creek Tesoro, the Ride Petersville folks. They've posted Oilwell is closed at Moose creek.
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

I was just on the ham radio a few minutes ago with another ham who lives at Kroto Creek and Oil Well. As of tonight, 600' of Oil Well Rd is under water at Mile 5. just above the Moose Creek Bridge. Moose Creek is almost up to the bridge, but water levels are starting to recede. Somebody else asked about Petersville, but there haven't been any reports from that area, other than that, as of yesterday Petersville Rd had water over it at mile 6, but that had receded as of tonight. Kroto Creek is down 1.3 ft from yesterday, but I didn't catch what it was up to. (Lot of static on the radio tonight. Some of that information came through a relay station at Eagle River.)

I offered to go up and try to cross Moose Creek in Argo, if needed, and was told the current was so swift that it would be ill advised. Bottom line is no one is getting in or out of that area for a few days.

As of 1:30 PM, Petersville Rd. had reopened. Oilwell is closed at mile 4.5 or so. I wouldn't go near any moving flood waters with an ARGO or any other ATV. Moose Creek, when it floods, runs HARD.

Was glad they built that new bridge..looked like it was going to help funnel the water better...but onece it comes through it can really open up and push on down. Interesting to hear it is across the road before you get to the bridge..that is one heck of a bank along the right side of the road there.....man it must be rushing through there. Weather said it should be residing..

Are you going up Pete or up Oilwell? Petersville is open above Moose Creek, Oilwell is not.

I can't think this will be anything but bad for the fish in the creek now but if it blasts all those dang beaver dams out and we hit freeze up before they can build back then perhaps we can end up with some future fish habitat improvement from this not to mention an improved floating opportunity.

very well said. I floated it in july and had to cross about 8 from pet RD to OW RD bridge..one huge one we refer to as the beaver dam from Hell...biggest one I have ever seen..but regardless, if they can get cleared out it would be a nice site. There were quite a few Kings up in there and not sure..but would think a big wash like this in the whole SV is giong to affect the fishery..cant be good washing all those eggs back out into the ocean.
