Default Success in 17B - Thank you for all of your help

We've been planning this trip for 2 years and it surpassed all of our expectations. Thank you all for your help answering questions as these two southern boys prepared for our trip to God's country. If we can convince our wive's we may be neighbors someday soon. You all live in a wonderful state and I can't wait to come back.

    Arrived in Kenai

    WDS is ready

    Not a chance in hell.

Rain delay for 3 days so...
    We fish for Pink Salmon

    And visit the locals

Game time with High Adventure Air out of Soldatna

    Lake Clark Pass

Camp set and tomorrow we hunt

    Time to hunt

    Lots of beautiful scenery

    WDS hunting hard

    Me hardly hunting

    Snacks are everywhere

    Success

Now the work starts and doesn't end for 2 days including carrying to lake for trip home!!

These work alot better than boat paddles but are much heavier (40 pounds)

They worked and got this guy to swim the lake for a fight. But he winded us and got out of bow range for WDS.

    Love it

This may have cost me my rental car deposit. Stuck out the window 10"

Time to clear out 66 inches of wall space

Great write up, and great pictures. Did you guys haul in a couple of chickens? That's just fantastic. You southern boys know how to hunt in style. Well done.

Sweet for sure! I assume your partner was going to do it with bow or go home empty handed instead of grabbing your rifle and shooting that second nice bull you called in?
Great memories for sure Thx for sharing!
When asked what state I live in I say "The State of Confusion", better known as IL....

We thought we would see ptarmigan behind every bush but only saw one. Luckily we bought a few game hens in soldatna before flying out.

Bill was dedicated to giving it his all with the long bow and we still had 4 days left when that guy showed up. I'll never know but pretty sure he would have asked for the rifle as time was running out but he has told me no regrets. He got to 40 yards on that bull but the alders blocked the vitals. On a side note I'm not sure I would have given him my rifle. Packing the first one out nearly killed me. ;-)

That is an outstanding hunt report and sounds and looks like you all had a great hunt! Love the pic of you guys roasting some chickens over the fire, looks like I need to start inviting you all out hunting with me so I eat something besides hot dogs.
