Default Fatal crash across the bay from Homer

Directly across from the end of the Homer Spit is an area called Mckeon Flats. The Wosnesenski River heads inland from the south western side of the flat area and goes up into the mountains. There are large power cables that go over the river at an angle. They are poorly marked and I am pretty sure this pilot ( N-57511 a 1973 Bellanca 7GCBC ) whacked those power cables.
My bride and I were paddling the Cub down the lake in Homer so we could pull it out for a cylinder swap right when this happened. The weather was HORRIBLE

I was walking by the T.V. and heard the word's Homer and fatal crash. I caught a glimpse of yellow airplane on the screen and my guts turned. Thank god for DVR, so I rewound it to make sure it wasn't you Float Pilot.

Yeah I had a couple phone calls about that as well.
Since folks had seen my wife and I paddling the plane on the lake around that time, through the heavy rain and mist, somebody also reported a crash on the lake.

Not to worry, Float Pilot. I know you'll never do something like that . . . . .

One takeoff too many, one landing left undone. Another gone West. My condolences and sympathies to the families.

I am tryin to get the exact GPS loaction of where the cables cross, a friend said that they are not noted in many GPS data bases. Right now my computer is still doing weird things and I cannot load Google Earth. Plus it keeps clicking on and off web pages...

Off topic but FP if your computer is redirecting google search result links to spam sites then you may have the google redirect virus. It is not detectable by most antivirus and makes browsing the web nearly impossible.
