Kashwitna River, or any other river thats runs in GMU 14, is this a good river to run a john boat or a scanoe up, been hunting with the ATV cant get away from the poeple who are just riding around and scaring all the moose. Thoughts,

you'd need a bigger river like iron creek or sheep creek off the east side of the talkeetna...i'd guess.

Sheep River not Sheep Creek. Iron Creek and Sheep River are full of boats on the weekends too. Hard to get away from folks in the Valley.

There are tons of areas you can hunt on foot that once you kill a moose you can get an ATV into to haul it back out. I've called in a bunch of moose less than a mile from some major roads and ATV trails.

The reason you hear atvs buzzing around is because you are using an atv to hunt. Strap on the boots and put a mile or two behind you and you'll find yourself suprisingly lonely.

Somehow people seem to believe that the value of your moose hunting equipment figures into the equation for success, when the main variable is being willing to do something (walk) that most people aren't.

    Good luck.

And God said, let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

The knik may not be good for moose. I'm pretty sure everything south of the river is a draw hunt or private property, and then everything North is accessible by ATV.
