    Default 2012 opener

went pretty good for us. just had to deal with the rain and 4 trillion noseums. amost lost my boat down the river and had to bail the water out 3 times but in the end it was worth it. 3 of us scratched out our limit of 24. mallards pintails golden eyes ringers teal and widgeons.

i thought i had it pulled up far enough on the bank and made two trips out of 6 through 300 yards of alders. on my 3rd trip got turned around and ended up in a tidal gut that for some reason i decided to follow out to the river to possibly find a easy route from the boat to our camp. well i took out enough weight off the boat to slide off the bank and it started floating down the river. luckily the gut i was in was right where my boat was at after it floated about 60 yards. if i was any later it woulda been swept down river. learned a few lessons to say the least.

Wow! Glad you found it in time!

I launched mine at a steep beach on a lake this summer, buddy had un-hooked the bow strap and didn't tell me. Watched the boat float off the trailer and out into the lake with no driver! Fortunately there was a guy close buy in a one man cataraft that brought it back to me!
