    Default Where would you Go

If you could pick only three places to fly to hunt ducks this year where would they be. Now I am not asking for secret spots more broad spectrum question like cordova, king salmon, nome etc. Also let me clarify the flight is not a a bush plane but a commercial jet liner. Just wondering where you might go. Nome is on my list along with Cordova and Kodiak.

When is as important as where, or more appropriately when determines where.

    1) My spot-Not the highest concentration of birds in the world but I worked pretty hard for a couple of years to figure out how to best to get there (far from the crowds) and how best to hunt it. There is a lot of satisfaction in putting in the work and seeing the results.
    2) Cold Bay-Hunted there once and have to say it was incredible for both ducks and geese.
    3) Any place in January or February.

I thought about another dream waterfowl hunt... A coworker was telling me about hunting in Denmark where one must use a guide if one is a foreigner. The guide provides the blind, the dog, and a highly trained decoying duck. The decoy duck is kept warm and cozy in the guides coat until wild birds are winging by. The decoy duck is released, trailing a colorful ribbon, to wing his way to the lead of the flock and lead them into gun range. As the story was told to me, the guide warned the client that if the prized decoy duck was shot accidentally, the guide dolled out a knuckle sandwich to the hunter and then charged him a $1000. Imaging working your dog and your duck in pursuit of waterfowl... sounds fun huh
