    Default Sheefish recipes?

    What is the best way to eat them?

    Cooked! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Here is one I like to use:
    1 Sheefish (if large may cut fillets into smaller sizes and save some for another meal)
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large bell pepper, chopped
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 small bunch basil, chopped
    1 Tblsp cooking oil
    1 large skillet with cover
    2tbsp butter
    Salt & Pepper to taste
    Heat the oil in the skillet and add the onion, garlic and bell pepper. Lay the fish fillets on top of the onion, garlic and peppers. Sprinkle with Basil leaves (you could also add other seasonings you like). Add a small amount of butter on top of each fillet. Cover the pan and let all of the ingredients cook, depending upon size of fillets. Turn the fish with the onions and pepper, to allow all ingredients to "brown". Fish is done when it is golden crispy outside and tender flaky inside.

    Note: I like to bleed out the fish right away, I do believe it improves the flavor

    Thank you, I had never eaten one. I was telling my new wife about how much they fight. Arctic Tarpon, or maybe Tarpon are Florida Sheefish. She asked me how they taste, and I told her I didn't know. I always had heard they were trash so I never ate one.

    tempura batter or beer batter and some tartar sauce....mmmmm.
