Default Suggest a rainbow fly for SW Alaska. Floating the Kwethluk River next week...

Very long story short, I had been planning on floating two rivers in NW. Floods, record river levels, thank god I got a call from Goo Vogt (Alaska Wildwater in ANC) yesterday. Made some quick plan changes yesterday, now we will be spending ten days on the Kwethluk. Called the transporter and area bio in Kotz after hearing from Goo which confirmed the worst case scenario. No gravel bars to land plane or camp on, rivers running 2 feet above record highs, no bars to camp on, etc...

Flying up in a week. Spent all year planning this trip to NW, now we are 7 days out and floating a river 800 miles away from our original destination. Mother nature always wins. Trying to put together a very quick last minute order with Alaska Fly Fishing Goods in Juneau. Suggest some flies for rainbows and silvers. Thanks for any suggestions. I got three boxes loaded up for DOLLIES. ha ha...

articulated leach patterns for silvers……..you know black and purple. I guess you could also use popsicles as well in different colors.

Swinging these for rainbows is a ton of fun: http://www.alaskaflyfishinggoods.com...-products.html

Plus there is no reason those beads you got won't work.

Almost forgot, those SW bows love giant flesh flies.

Thanks for the replies fellas, and thanks for the call Mark. Greatly appreciate it. Spent a few hours today loading up dolly llamas, mouse patterns, articulated flesh patterns, chokers, happy meals, beads, sculpins, and assorted other stuff. If I don't catch fish, won't be from a lack of ammo.
