The last time I was in both of those villages, they both had hoses to the river, but it's been a few years since I was last in Ruby. But if memory serves, there was someone here on this site that posted recently that Ruby no longer has a hose to the river....which seems odd since the station is practicaly on the bank of the Yukon.

Call the Ruby post office, as the postmasters husband runs the gas station. Or PM Martentrapper, he'd know.

A few years back Denali commition replaced all riverside gas and fule projects, all away from any erodeing banks and removed old tanks ready to tip on in. I think this happend all over the bush, at least all of the villages here on Kobuk river.

No fuel on the River at Rudy 2 years ago. You have to buy gas up the hill, they had a pickup with a tank in it, you pump your gas into the truck and then drive down and pump it into your boat or cans. Buy more than you can put in your boat and you have to leave it in the truck.

I have got gas at Rudy the last three years and it has never been handy, only worth it because of the lower fuel cost, if gas is the same at Galena and Rudy, then it's Galena this year for us, much better with the long hose pumping right into your boat!

Steve, when are you guys heading down the river?.....we are leaving on the 3rd.

Sir, we are leaving the bridge on the 1st. We be in a Wolly AKII with a roof rack and green camper enclosure. Will be listening to VHF and might have a CB as well.

I will make sure to have a Mr Funnel this year, picked up some water with our gas last trip that about shut us down.

We did the same out of Tannana. LOTS of water. Ruined each boats carburetors. We pump all bush gas into our barrels then into the main tank with an electric fuel pump with a small filter then a water separating filter inline. We can drain the water out of the filter that way much easier. We were emptying the boat filter a couple of times a day last time when we filled up directly into the boat tanks. Who knows what got through. Not this year though.

Any idea of the price for gas in Tanana?

Dang, is it still that expensive upriver??? Ill quit complaining about downriver prices.......but were still cheaper here than Kotzebue, which is nice.

With the flooding were haveing, I hope a barge gets up there and tops 'em off, quick like. Last year I paid 10$ a gallon in Shungnak.....ouch!....to say the least.....
