Kenai Pen. Clamming Help
We are coming to the Kenai from September 26th thru October 11th and, if possible, would like to do some clamming. I have read that you need to go on the minus tides, preferably minus 2' or more. Of course, every year that we go there are no -2's and this year appears to be no different And so, we have never made it out clamming yet.
Could somebody with experience here take a look at a tide chart and offer up some tips on when/where during this time frame clamming might be worth a go?
You could get some clams on one of these days, but any of the other days and you are going to want some diving equipment!
I have caught limits of clams on +.2 tides a couple times. You have to work hard and fast.

BTW - clamming in the dark is not as productive or fun as during daylight hours.
Even with minus five tides I still like clamming just around a hundred yards out from the transition from steeper slope beach to flats. The beach at ninilchik starts to go flat at approx plus two tide
Your sarcasm is way, waaaayyyyyyyy more sarcastic than mine!
