Thread: Webasto Heaters

    Default Webasto Heaters

My boat has a Webasto 3500 heater that quit working. It will start and heat for a few minutes and then shut off. It also seems to smoke a little much at start up. I'm not at all familiar with these heaters, any suggestions?

My webasto is very sensitive to voltage changes. Make sure you have a strong charged battery before you flip the switch to start the heater.

have you hit the reset switch on the top?
clean and open exhaust line?? my exhast tube filled with water a couple of times this year, got to quit fishing in such nasty water, anyway drain hole in the ipe has abviously been plugged. it would come on, smoke rather heavily and then shut off. you can check this simply by turning the heater on and stand by the exhaust, should blow hard and heavy, kind of sounds like a jet winding us as it builds up to temp.
    hope that helps

    Check Voltage.
check for any obstruction in the exhaust or intake.
check fuel flow or any restrictions from a filter or other.
    replace fuel screen.
