    Default Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X40mm

I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9X40mm scope mounted on a Browning A-Bolt (left-hand ss) .338 mag. using Warne rings and bases. I bore sighted it and went to the range. At the range while shooting at 100 yards the 1/4 MOA click adjustments were all over the place. Sometimes they would only move the shot group an inch after 10-12 clicks and other times it would move 6-8 inches after 10-12 clicks. I tried taping on the adjustments to make sure they were seated each time. How hard do I have to tap( I was using my index finger most of the time)? Does anyone have any advice and/or know what the problem is(short of taking the scope of and sending it back to Bushnell for a replacement). I also have a second identical Bushnell Elite 3200 mounted on a Savage .30-06 with the same type of Warne rings and bases, but I have only bore sighted it so far and haven't been to the range with it yet. Thanks for the help.

    Default scope mount

Make sure all the bases, rings, and stock screws are tight. Warne rings being vertically split often dont seat in the groove good, in my experience. Make sure all is aligned, scope square to receiver, not binding the scope tube or crooked mounts or rings. Could very well be the reticle in the scope as I had a Tasco scope (briefly) that would do that although it was a lot cheaper than the 3200. If you have a portable vise I have also used to check this. Lock it into the vise and align it to a target with the 1 in squares. Then depending on the range, 1/4 at 100 yrds (4 clicks for 1 in), 1/8 at 50 , see if the reticle moves the correct amount.

Good advice. Could very well be you have a bum scope and it needs to go back. I use a 3200 Elite 10X Mil Dot on my Remington 700 LH VSF 308 "work" rifle. It has held up to everything I've thrown at it and I have complete confidence in it...
