    Default Ketchikan shore fishing

I will be in Ketchikan in late July of next year and would like to so some fishing from shore. Don't have access to a boat and can't afford a charter. I have read that some locals fish the bridge that crosses the creek down town. I am not interested in that type of fishing but have also heard that there is a creek 3 or 4 miles from town that has good runs of chum and pinks. I won't be keeping any fish so chums and pinks would be fine by me. Anyone know anything about this creek?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You might be referring to Ward creek, which is just a few miles north of town and has fairly easy access if you don't mind taking a short hike. When my family goes to Ketchikan, my brother likes to flyfish at that creek.
