Default Upper Susitna Shooters Association range.

We recently joined the USSA so that we could use their range facility. (You donít have to be a member to shoot there although you do get a discount when using the range as a member).

What a great place to shoot. We spent several hours there last week on a Monday and Wednesday and had the range to ourselves both days.

The volunteer range masters are very friendly and helpful.

The range is less than a half hour drive north from Willow.

I've belonged to the range for some time, but shot there only recently.

It is much improved from what it was, while they were building it.

It's a little further to drive for me than Birchwood, but I'll be goin back as soon and as often as possible. It's really a great range.

Mile 84 Parks Hwy. Makes it about 42 miles from Wasilla I think.

Thanks for the kind words. It's at mile 94 on the Parks Hwy. I have been recently elected to be a board member and I am also a range safety officer. We are constantly working to make the range a better place, but we are a completely volunteer organization and it can be really tough to make much progress. Myself and several volunteers finished the furthest south 200 yard range cover a couple months ago. I still need to finish up some bracing before the snow flies.

Unlike a membership at Birchwood (which is WAY more expensive) our insurance doesn't allow unlimited access to members. You must have a RSO on the range any time a non-RSO is shooting. If anyone has interest in shooting at times that we aren't normally open, you can contact me by PM and I might be able to arrange an evening during the week.

Next season I plan on organizing some sort of practical/tactical handgun and carbine league of some sort.
