Default King Salmon trolling in Cook Inlet

So........does anyone know if it will be legal again to troll for kings in CI around Deep Creek after July 31??? I can not find any info contrary to that.
There may be a straggler or two out there and after eating year old king for dinner last night a fresh one would be great.......Jack

According to my sources, yes. But asking a legal question on this forum can potentially get you in trouble if by some slim chance you get misinformation. Can you imagine the look on a Fish and Game officer's face when you tell them someone told you on a fishing forum it was OK!? If I were you I'd just call ADF&G and ask them.

Jack, every king is vital this year. It might be legal but is it good for the resource? Your call I guess, not mine. Go to Klutina, they are not as hurting as the Kenai Kings. My opinion only, we all got one.
If a dipnetter dips a fish and there is no one around to see/hear it, Did he really dip?

Totally agree. Good info. Thanks to Jack for doing that and posting.

As for the guilt trips, I wouldn't be totally sure a king caught off Deep Creek was going to head into the Kenai anyway. It could very well be a feeder king, too. I think F&G has a pretty good idea that if someone does just happen to catch a king after July 31st in the "Special Harvest" area it's not going to have much impact on the king return in the Kenai. Good luck and hope you catch something!
