Default our diet for the hike

As stated in the other post, our hike is coming up soon.

Since it will likely be 6 nights and 7 days, since we will be packing all gear, I am curious about food.
We like fruits and veggies and nuts. energy bars, saltines, etc.
I was just wondering if any of you have an idea on ways to vary the diet with lightweight foods. I don't want to eat the same thing for 7 days but also don't want to pack 40 lbs of food.

    Thanks, Nick

I suggest you google Hawk Vittles. I have tested several of them. I haven't tried any breakfast items but I have tried several other things. I know everyone tastes in food will vary. I have tried the chili, lasagna(all varieties), all the pastas, some of the soups and the only one I didn't really care for was the grilled salmon stir fry. It had a strong fish smell but and the taste didn't appeal to me. I really liked everything else.

I'll check out the vittles and try a couple before I go, have you got them in ANC or elsewhere?
Smoked salmon, jerky, gorp and cheese...... sounds like a bear attractant!! Trust me, most of that'll make my pack!

PS. We are going to try fishing on ship creek around noon on the 23rd before we leave town. If anybody wants to see a face light up, drop by me and my bud and mention sheep....

The only place you get them is online from the website. They ship them out pretty quickly. After placing an order, I usually receive mine in about 5 days.
