Default Go pro footage of harpooning and dispatching a flatfish

A friend and I went out Monday chasing flatfish. He brought his go pro, so we out it to use. Pretty cool tool.

The camera was not actually mounted to the harpoon. It was mounted to a 5 foot pole that had a mount fabricated to fit his camera. I do not have pictures of it, but it sure worked slick. I will be picking one of these little cameras for next season.

Cool video, you hit that butt just right, pumping blood hard.

The Go Pro is very cool, pick one up and then get a underwater housing for it... check out eyeofmine.com for lots of cool mounts.

I have one its quite a bit of fun. The new ones even have a wifi deal with them that let you watch the video in real time on your iphone..

Perhaps you are viewing this at work and work filters out vimeo and other video hosting sites?

Thanks. These go pros are pretty cool for what they are. We had three going at a time when we were out there all last week. We captured some great video of the boats running.

Did you have your gopro mounted at the end of a stick, or were you holding it in the water with your hand?

I posted one a couple of weeks ago but here another from fishing down in the Sound a couple of days ago. Big fish, we used 2 harpoons on it and it still pulls the buoys like a scene from Jaws.

yea, GoPro's are a lot of fun... I've got a mount for it on my boat hook, harpoon, suction cup for the rear window, head strap, and a small hand held stick. Most of the guys I take out think I'm weird doing all the video, but once I cut up and edit a video of the trips for them, they change their tune really fast. Got some neat ideas to play with in the future with them too...

Yeah, very cool video. And a beauty of a butt, too! Thanks for posting.

And not trying to demean it in any way, but it would have been really cool to have lifted the camera out of the water when you got the butt to the surface, though I'm guessing you had better things to do at the time! LOL!

I thought that the guy running the camera captured all of it, but he didn't. There is always next time. I will definitely have one for my self for next season. I think I will pick up one of the aftermarket flat lenses. It should make the underwater footage much more clear.
