    Default Yak-Attack 2012

Had a great trip to Yakutat last week!! Stayed at The Dream Catcher Lodge, a great DYI place hosted by Ron DeNardi (Situk guide & outfitter). You have the choise of cooking yourself or making a short walk over to the Glacier Bear Lodge resteraunt for meals. At $100/night/bed it's half the price of GBL and a nicer place to stay: http://yakutatdreamcatcher.com/. Spent a day and a half on the Situk and had some fine Sockeye fishing, even with high water we got limits. Spent the next three days in Monti Bay with Gary Kluchkan on the Fish Yakutat and managed near limits of Halibut (to 140#), Lings (to 30#), and Black Cod each day. Gary is a fine guide with a lifetime of experience fishing the salt out of Yakutat: http://www.fishyakutat.com/.

We had an amazing time and built memories that will last a lifetime.

Thanks for the info. Technically, this specific forum is not for comments, discussion or feedback. It's focused on showing off your catch and providing information on when, where, and how you caught what you did.

However, my next trip to the Great Land will likely be to Yakutat. I like the opportunity to catch halibut in reasonably shallow water, and without huge tides. This lodge seem to provide an alternative, although it appears to provide just a place to sleep. You still need to arrange for boat rentals, food, transportation, and everything else.

Technically I would say that is a good fishing report. Thanks for sharing.
