Default Fly out or fish the Kenai

    Guys-

I am going to be coming to Anchorage for a business trip, arriving on Tuesday, meeting on Wednesday and I have all day Thursday to fish. I would like to catch a bunch of sockeyes and it looks like the business trip just happened to coincide with the Kenai run

My question is whether I should charter a float plane to fly to a more remote location to fish or if I should fish somewhere on the Kenai. My dad and I have been to Alaska once and we fished the Kenai near the Russian river. The crowds there were pretty thick.

My goals would be to sight fish (if possible) to sockeye with either spinning gear or fly gear. I would also like to get away from the crowds and since this will most likely be the cheapest Alaska trip possible, I don't mind chartering a plane.

Can you recommend a one day plane fly out service for around 350 a day or less that will fly out of Anchorage or nearby to fish with those goals in mind? No matter what, I will post a report with pictures once I am back home.

    Thanks,

    Nathan

If you want to get away from the crowds then just take the Kenai off your list. When the reds show up so do the people and if you can drive or walk to it there will be people there.

I've used these guys out of Soldotna a bunch of times for one day fly-outs to Wolverine Creek with good success.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I am going to leave my meeting Wednesday and head to the Kenai river to fish until mid day Thursday. I am thinking of trying to take an afternoon trip to the west side of cook inlet to go to either Wolverine Creek, Kustatan River or Crescent Lake River.

Which of these three would you say is the best?

    Thanks again.
