    Default 416 Taylor loads, RL-15/Varget

Looking for any pet loads or experience with the 416 Taylor. Mine should be here any day now. With my previous Taylor I used RL-15 and it worked well. I'm curious about the performance of Varget compared to RL-15. How do they compare as far as burn rate/pressure etc? I'd like to use Varget if possible because of the temperature stability and I can also use it for my .308 Win. Any ideas or experience?

My favorite powder for the 416 bore is H4895. Haven't used Varget but lots of RL-15. It depends on bullet weight 400 grains the H4895 (72 grains max)or RL 15 (75 grains max) Or with 350 grain bullet about 74.0 is max of H4895. We're looking for about 2350 fps from the 400 grain and 2400 from the 350 grainer.

My experience with cartridges from 35 Whelen AI to 416 Remington Mag is that Varget is very slightly faster than RL-15, but more consistent, more accurate, and less temperature sensitive than RL-15. Varget should be excellent in the 416 Taylor.
