Denali option on a short trip?
If I have 6 days to the first of August. My friend and I have plans to fish the parks highway to the Russian river. With so many different creek options along the highway, does taking a day to drive part way up the Denali highway and fish for grayling make sense given the short amount of time available? I want the best experience possible and I love catching fish in numbers so grayling would be a blast but is the detour worth the lost time on parks highway creeks?
Grayling are a blast to catch with dry flies and are remarkable fish. My advice is a case of redbull or the equivalent. Fish all day. Drive all night. Rest when you get home.
