Default Any silvers showing up yet in Seward?

Has anyone heard and recent reports of Silvers in Seward yet? It looks like they are running a bit late this year

We fished the north end of Cheval Narrows Saturday, got one pink in an hour of fishing. Saw several others boated, but they looked small, so I would guess pinks. Lots more boats than fish. We then went in search of halibut, and didn't fare any better.

I seems like it's just about time to start worrying. Let the speculation begin...where the heck are those silvers?

Co-worker of mine took a charter on the 5th and they fished silvers for 30 minutes and then went rockfish chasing... Not a good sign when the charter guys give up?

I cant ever remember a year when we couldn't find limits of silvers by July 4...and I can think of many years when we were consistantly catching silvers on the solstice. In my opinion, they are at least 3 weeks late.

We were on the water last Friday (the 6th) and got 2 silvers in 1 hour at Caine's Head. Didn't feel like heading out after getting pounded on the 4th in Harris Bay. Driftwood Bay was pretty hot based on some second hand reports but we didn't feel like making the turn around the cape.

I just talked to my old man who has been putting in 6-7 hours of trolling anywhere from Tonsina to past Calisto for the past 5 days, he has put 2 in the boat each day since sunday. He said its dead and there isnt many showing up at the docks either. Im a littl bummed because we got our limits every day last year but who knows what will happen!

Not sure were your reports are coming in. Besides having to deal with mother natures mad on today, fish are around, you just need look for them. Don't get me wrong, it's not last year but the fish are coming in....

Had a time trying to attach these pictures but here you are. This was yesterdays catch and today's larger fish. Fish are outside and inside, you just need to look for them. Be safe though as mother nature is kicking some butts over the next couple of days.

Well I'm not sure if you mean my report, because it looks as if every report on the net right now sounds about the same, congrats on the fish, I guess I will keep searching once I get back down. Good luck!

    Kevin,

No not just your view or report, severally people have said its not good - I guess it just depends on our POV's. But really, between Pony and cains, you can find them - or even outside, you just need to move around maybe is all. Best of luck, "Fish On, and safe travels..."

Ya my butt got kicked. 18' Weldcraft. We were North of Calisto and South of Caines Head. We saw a charter boat catching them but none for us. They are there, you just gotta find em and know how to catch em.

Yes there are slivers in Seward now. from Lowell Point to Pony Cove and in the usual points along the coast. There are late but they are here now. Better late than never.
    Come and get them!
