    Default denali park area fishing

So the girlfriend wants to get outta town for a few days so were gunna go down to denali for a couple days. Just curious if there's any good areas to fly fish down there. I just got my rod setup and caught some grayling yesterday for the first time and I have to say I think I'm hooked!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you end up going in to the national park, here's the park's info page on fishing: http://www.nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/fishing.htm If it's strictly a fishing trip, I suspect you'll do better in other areas. But, combine some rod & reel time with critter viewing, hiking, and some nice campgrounds and the national park might be the way to go. The fire folks were talking yesterday about high pressure and clear skies in the Interior, so pack some sunscreen and have a great trip wherever!

A great trip from Fairbanks is to head south to the Denali highway, take it all the way across and stop where ever looks good and do some casting. Countless creeks/rivers, away from the crowds and great numbers of fish!

    Here's some points of interest..

I guarantee you won't regret it!

    Enjoy!

Denali Highway streams are just great for grayling fishing. One of my favourites, when I am in AK. Wonderlake in Denali N.P. has Lake trout. When I was there, the campground host said, I can use his canoe, which war great for fishing.

    enjoy, Hans

Sorry. The fishing for Lakers in Wonderlake was nice, but no flyfishing. Denali Highway streams were great for FF.
