So, I have some Pentax 10x43 DCF SP binos that I really like. I can glass for a long time, no eye strain, pretty light for what they are- 26oz. etc. Great for hunting. Took them sheep hunting last year also but it's hard to crawl around with them on your neck etc.
Years ago I had a cheapo pair of small, shirt pocket size 10x25's that were real handy. You could hang em around your neck, stick em in your shirt pocket and grab em out quickly with one hand. Not great optics since they were el cheapo but very handy.
It seems that a decent quality pair of 10x25's for sheep hunting along with a high quality spotter (I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Pentax 20-60x65 EDA) would be a great combo. Use the little binos for the quick look and identify a ram and then break out the spotter. No need to have the larger bulkier heavier binos around the neck.
I don't really want to spend 350-400 bucks on some Zeiss 10x25's although I know they are excellent glass and only 7 oz. But what about the Minox 10x25's.
Any thoughts or experiences? I want to stay under 10oz. That's a pound lighter than my Pentaxes.
