    Default Seward Silver Report

Figured I would get this one started...

Anyone seeing or catching any out at PC or inside the bay yet?

Just please make sure you know the difference between a fesh saltwater pink and a silver. Being an even year there should be hoards of pinks crushing in. Saw lots of pinks hit the Military Rec camp last year when people thought thay had silvers. Not that there's anything worong with eating pinks. We tried a couple early saltwater pinks we caught [July 7th] just south east of Pony Cove [nearly parallell w/ Pilot Rock] and they were suprisingly good. We didn't relly get into the Silvers good until July 10th last year.

If you could go East out of the bay I would expect to see a few any day now.

I got a load of silvers last year on the 25-26th of June at Pony Cove, so they ought to start being around shortly, but probably be real spotty until July. It sure is fun trying to find them thought, and Pinks are fun to catch in the salt too.

Yeah,, I figured they would be hitting Johnsons Bay or even pushing up into driftwood bay here pretty soon. In the next week or two PC might be picking up a few and even south of there...

There were a few boats trolling near the southern end of Fox on Saturday. I didn't see anyone land a salmon, but I did see one lone jumper. Two more weeks and it will be game on!!

I can't claim the glory. rrjfish8 broke the secret to me.

I originally figured that they went East to Oregon to catch em. Heck of a run from Seward.

So - I getz me 6 silvers out by Pony and then a extinct King on the way back to Port? Mmmm, tasty.
