Thank you to all (committee members, sponsors, donors and attendees) who helped make our first annual dinner auction such a huge success. We had 200 people attend and with all the great raffle, silent auction and live auction items, there was something for everyone's taste. Our auctioneer, Mike Dewan, did his usual outstanding job and we thank him for volunteering the services of D&D Auctions. The food was great and Evangelo's restaurant was extremely responsive to our every need (even when we asked to add another table the day of the event). If I failed to thank anyone, please accept my apology, as the oversight was not intentional.
The only sad note was the absence of Hobo Jim due to his father's passing the day before our event. Jim felt terrible about leaving us hanging and did all he could to find some replacement entertainment for us on short notice. Once we explained to the crowd what had happened, everyone understood and proceeded to enjoy the evening despite Jim's absence. A true friend of trappers everywhere, our hearts go out to Hobo Jim and we are sorry for his loss.
For those of you who missed the event, you missed a great time!
