    Default Who's running a Lowe 1236 with an 8hp?

I've got a yammy 8hp 2 stroke and I'm figuring to buy a Lowe 1236 to strap it on. What kind of speed can I expect? Any hiccups? I've never owned a true jonboat before. Thanks!

i have a 14/36 foot lowe with a 10 horse. it goes 22 mph one person. unless you have room constraints the 14 is much better.
rides real hard if any waves pop up.

Thanks. I'm considering getting something with more of a modified V if I can find it because I do sometimes get into bigger waves, but it's usually not too bad on the delta out here. Space isn't a problem. Any problems with planing/trim/ride height?

with a light weight flatbottom even the smallest waves will beat the heck out of you and be dangerous.
the biggest thing with these small boats is getting the load balanced as the weight is all in the back. when alone you may need to put some weight up front. a 12/36 is only safe for small water.
