Thread: POW Weather Report / Green Up?

  1. #1

Default POW Weather Report / Green Up?

Anybody know how the green up is coming along? Seems pretty cold for this late in May and was curious if things were greening up as they should.

On a related note, anyone know if Polk Pass is open?

Everythings green here in petersburg. can't imagine it's any different on POW as they generally get more sun than we do. down low in southeast had a pretty mild snow year but theres still a lot up in the alpine

Greening up just fine and bears are out.

Polk is not open, a culvert blew out last fall and the bridge to relpace it has not yet been installed. Just past Pass Lake.

And the Pass has deep snow still .... I snowshoed around up there a couple days ago.

The woods actually out-greened the beaches this spring.

So you can get up to Pass Lake but no further?

Unless some one plows the road ..... but I'm sure it's melting fast in the last few days but it is deep in those drifts.

Understatement of the year . Looks like Polk will be a good hunt for those with enough boat to get there. You guys seeing many bears on the roads lately, or has it been a pure beach show? I'll be back on the island in a couple of days and am looking forward to putting some rust on my barrel.
