Default Petersville Cabin owners- snow check??

Lookin to get an idea of what the current conditions are. Much of the valley has melted off to a mild low elevation.

Anyone comment on remaining snow coverage in Petersville?
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

A local resident reports that as of May 19th the road past the Forks Roadhouse locale is still snowed in. It was also reported that there was snow 500 yards before the forks. A little early yet. Generally when there has been a heavy snow year the road going down the canyon to Peters Creek is impassable except for a track rig since that part of the road gets little sun. Mid June should see it clear.

Yeah I figured mid June, perhaps later this year.

Snow is melting fast... much faster than I would've expected. Many ATV's made it into Petersville and went beyond. Road still had patches of deep snow. With the rain, snow melt, truck traffic, and lots of ATV traffic ... parts of the road are soft and may be well rutted by weekends end.

The canyon out past Petersville still had plenty of snow.

Couldn't tell you what it's like on Petersville road itself, but around our cabin several miles west of MP120 there is absolutely no snow left.

We've been running about the hills since the 9th. Hard to imagine there being any more snow on the road to Petersville. Might be some on the road on into Cache Creek and lower... but that location is way past our stop.

Where are you trying to go? Cache Creek? Beyond? What are you planning to do? ATV’ing, camping, mining, or hunting bears?

Just wheelin n campin. Our usual route starts and ends back at the Forks runnin the loop around the hills and down Cache Creek.

Are folks still parking behind the roadhouse at the creek since the fire?

Yes, there were a few vehicles at the Bridge for the past three weekends. Some people fishing. Some doing the ATV thing. Others catching rays in their camp chairs.

Last time we went towards Cache Creek, we were taking the main trail down towards the river, but I don't recall any snow up to that trail split.

We may see you out there. Have fun.
