Default Lower Willow Creek Canoeing Questions

Looking to canoe the lower willow. Going from the bridge to deska. Not a beginner, but still a novice. I know the trip is only about 5 miles and I believe it to be an easy float. Any suggestions or tips on this river? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I've done the float a lot in a raft but never a canoe. The river changes every year so I don't know how it is this year. I will say there is normally several spots that you could potentially get yourself in trouble with a canoe. There is usually enough room to get out and scout a few of the tighter places. I'd diffidently wear a life jacket and if hear an airboat or jetboat bank the canoe quick. Good luck.

I would float it in a raft first. Although there's no whitewater, this time of year there is some deceptively fast flat water and sweepers. Things can happen FAST and that water is COLD. Trust me Little willow is a much easier float to try as a novice in a canoe.
