Thread: Son's 1st Black bear

  1. #1

    Default Son's 1st Black bear

I am real happy for my son. He shot his 1st black bear Saturday night. He cracks me up! After he shoots it, he says: " I am 4 for 4 Dad". His first big game was a Dall Sheep when he was 12. Then a goat at 13. Moose at 14. Now a bear at 16.

Fathers, enjoy your kids! They grow up too fast. School, sports and girls (maybe not in that order) are all getting ahead of me on his list.

    Have a great spring everyone.

Looks like Mr Brett is going to need a trophy wall of his very own. Congrats to both father and son!!!

Thankfully it's the fourth item that ends up occupying our minds later in life. Just so happens to be the fondest memories and they last the longest. Congratulations to Coultin and especially to his proud Papa.

Wow! A sheep at 12 and a goat at 13?! Followed up by this, that kid is having one charmed childhood. Good on you for getting him out there and making such wonderful memories together. Congratulations to the young hunter!

Awesome! I'd have to say he's 4 for 5 though, what happened at 15?

What's in store for him next?

Everyone...Thank you for all the positive comments.

Jerod...he was trying real hard to make both the High School football and hockey teams that year. He never even flew "recons" that year with me.

No specific plans this fall with him. Mainly because his sister is the priority for the next blackie (starting tonight) and a sheep hunt in early August while he is doing sports again. I will post his "younger" hunt pictures tonight, all great hunts as well.
