Default Floating the Delta from Tangle Lakes to HWY Questions

    Hello fellow Anglers,

My father will be here in Late June and I want to take him on a good 4 to 5 day canoe trip on the delta. I heard that you can float to the hwy in 4 to 5 day easy and I just want to know some basic/fun info.

I have never been on this trip but heard a ton of good reports. Can anyone give me any info on what to expect. For example... Water, distance, fish, tackle, fun, just anything!

Keep in mind my father and I have been on a few 50-80+ Mile canoe trips, but I want this to be a good father and son trip.

BTW this forum gave me the idea for this trip!!!

    Thanks for the help!

First of all clarification: Upper tangles to the denali or denali to the richardson hwy? I'm guessing the latter. You have looked at all the info BLM has to offer? No problem with the portage?

Here's the link to the BLM page that was referred to above.

And a great article in the News Miner..

There's just one well marked portage around the falls.

    Have fun! Be Safe!
