Default AK Dept. of Fish n Game Survey, why are they conducting this survey?

I received this email this morning, would any of you have any insights into the reasons for this survey?:

"The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is sponsoring a study about the economic importance of wildlife in Alaska. This study will survey both residents and visitors to help us understand more about how hunting, trapping, and other wildlife-related activities affect Alaska’s economy.
As part of this survey, we ask that you help us by providing information about hunting in Alaska. The answers you supply to a third-party, independent research firm will be used for research purposes only and will be kept strictly confidential.
Your thoughtful responses to the survey questions are important. All respondents will be entered into a drawing for one of five $250 cash gift cards.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to carefully complete this survey before May 23, 2012.
    Please click here

    to initiate the survey.Sincerely,

    Cora Campbell, Commissioner
Alaska Department of Fish & Game

P.S. If you have any questions regarding this study, please contact Ernie Niemi [], the lead consultant at ECONorthwest."

Hey Mainer, why don't you click on the link at the bottom and ask them? That is why the link is there. In fact, maybe you should contact them and then report back to the forum?
If a dipnetter dips a fish and there is no one around to see/hear it, Did he really dip?
