Default Yamaha 50 4 stroke, Prop to Jet info.

I have a Willies Legend, I currently Have a Yamaha 50 Tiller with prop , runs great on the keni. I want to use my boat on the Deshka , Little Sue, Talkeetna. I am wondering if anyone out there has used this conversion to jet and how heavy of a boat. I do not want to spend 2 K plus to find out it won't push my boat in the current well enough. I looked at buying a second motor but that is alot of investment when i have a motor. Any advice on if the jet conversion will work would be much appreciated.

    18 Ft 66 wide flat bottom 880lbs.

It's all about the weight of the boat (and gear) your jet will be pushing.
go to www.outboardjets.com and find their weight-to-power chart. Good luck!

My uncle has a smoker craft 18'-6" with an effinrude 50hp on it. He has a hydraulic jackplate with prop and jet foot. Set up my AKMD.

It runs about 27 gps mph out in PWS all day long with the prop on.

Going to the deshka from the landing last year it would move the boat and 3 people, 1 dog, and lite camping gear up the Su at 7-9mph gps.

With just 3 people and the dog it ran up the deshka pretty good at 18-21mph gps.

IF we go this year he will just take the prop.
