    Default Eklutna Tailrace

I think its about time to start a new thread on the 2012 Eklutna Tailrace King Run. Has anybody been there yet? Any fish there yet? Have the water levels come up yet? Still the only place that an EO has not been issued on. I hope it doesn't get hammered this summer because of the EOs on the Big and Little Su rivers... Pleae advise as you see fit. That's one of my favorite fisheries. I'm guna hit it next Saturday in the early mornin... thanx... "fishon"

We drove by yesterday and then stopped by on the way back and there is no water there. Even with my skinny water boat, I cannot make it up to the good fishin spots. Hell, unless them fish come in there sideways, they won't make it either. Won't be fishin there this weekend, just runnin up to the glacier with the rest of the group. Dam the weather!!!. Please keep your posts comin and I will too... thanx ya'll... "fishon"

Knik is still very low, but appears to be coming up a little!

I stopped by and took a look today on my way back from Anchorage, stood on the bridge and watched groups of 6 inchers moving toward the river, quite a few of them, hatchery plant maybe? Nothing moving upstream, nothing rolling. I saw one guy with a pole about 70 yard downstream from the mouth, he was getting plenty of sunshine.

Its off of the glenn highway on the way to Palmer. If coming from Anchorage you will be making a right on the old glenn highway just before the Knik bridge. It is accessble by car. They even have a wheelchair access path right to the river.
