Default Shipping meat back to ANC from the bush

If we get lucky, we'll be shipping moose meat back to ANC from Kotz this fall. How do people package the meat for shipping? Obviously, it'll be in game bags from the field to Kotz. But getting it from Kotz to ANC is where I'm not sure how I should pack it. I've been told to ship a bunch of fish boxes out to Kotz ahead of time, then when we get back into Kotz from the field, bone all the meat and pack in fish boxes to ship back. I'm hesitant to do this because where do I find a place in Kotz to bone out our meat? Another person told me to ship a pallet out ahead of time, and leave all the meat on the bone, wrap the game bags in a tarp and shrink wrap it to the pallet and ship it home in game bags on a pallet.

Which method do you folks prefer, or is there a better method?

    Thanks!

I've shipped meat out of Kotz via NAC just in game bags, on a pallet, shrink wrapped. The meat went right into a cooler, then into a cooler when it got into Anc. No issues what-so-ever, and the back haul was like .25/lb.

Wet-lock (waxed)boxes are preferred by aircracft companys to game bags and such, but as AKtroutbum described, you cannot go wrong with NAC in Kotz, Mark F. there runs a tight but very customer friendly operation there.

I've done both methods mentioned, game bags in wax boxes ( some boxes the lids won't close tight) & sometimes just the game bags on the pallets. I think I would use at least a few boxes. Then like trout said drop your tarp on the pallet, load & shrink wrap via NAC. The only way to go. You can always check a wax box or two with you on AK air but it is much easier to just load it all on NAC.
