    Default Prince of Wales Island

We are driving the Sprinter van back to Alaska this summer- will arrive around the longest day and stay for a month.
On the way back, we plan to ferry hop down the coast, and especially spend a few days at Prince of Wales island. If anyone has suggestions about fishing that area, please let me know. Will probably bring a 5 and an 8 weight fly rod and probably an 8 weight switch rod.

Have been reading this for a few years, but don't post much.

Thanks obxdog - I was beginning to wonder if any members of the forum lived there or had fished there.
I was working on an old half scale model of a whaleship in the New Bedford Whaling Museum when a visitor and I started talking. He was a commercial fisherman from Alaska and I asked him where he would go to fish for fun. Without hesitation, he said Prince of Wales Island

You're too early for me to be of much help. But I love POW going back for my 3rd August trip. I take a 5 and a 9. Lots of fish - and bears - but not many people.
