Default Fort Rich 600 yd shoot Saturday AND Sunday Come Shoot!!!

I am not sure I have someone to haul the trailer to Ft Richardson and back to Birchwood on Sunday. If you are willing to haul the trailer Sunday let me know.

The Alaska Rifle Club will host the Alaska State Service Rifle Championship on Saturday, May 12 at Ft. Richardson's Pedneau Range. This is a Registered match of 80 rounds for record plus sighters. Match fee is $30 and sign up time is 8:00 - 8:30 AM in the parking lot adjacent to the range. This is a service rifle match but match rifles will be allowed, however they will not be eligible for prizes. Open chamber indicators will be required and will be available for $1 each. Everyone is required to sign up in the parking lot adjacent to Pedneau Range. I have attached the Match Program. I have also attached an Hold Harmless form that the Army is requiring everyone to sign. Please print one for yourself and bring it. You only have to sign it once for the year and the club keeps them. This year the Hold Harmless form is good for Ft Richardson and Ft Greely.

Please let me know if you are coming. Because the number of High Power shooters has been so small we barely have enough to meet the Army requirements run the range. We need a minimum of 9 shooters.

On Sunday, May 13 a 50 round (no sighters) CMP leg match will be held. Sign up time is 8:00 - 8:30 AM and the mach fee is $20. The leg match will be limited to service rifles only and trigger weights will be checked. The CMP requires a notarized Affidavit from each competitor. If you have turned in a CMP Affidavit at any CMP match after October 2007 you do not have to complete a new Affidavit.

The Army has tightened the rules on bringing firearms onto the base. Because Pedneau is not on the main base, we do not have to worry about them. _*If you go through the main gate you must register all firearms. *_

The Army range control has taken a firm stand on range rules. There will be no personal vehicles other than the emergency designated vehicle on the Range. So, either you have to carry your equipment or put it in the emergency vehicle.

    Hope to see you there!

I just got off of the phone with Ft Richardson Range Control and we are not going to be able to use Pedneau Range this weekend. There are going to be contractor working inside of Pedneau's safety fan area. There contractors are going to be working 7 days a week on the machine gun range behind Pedneau Range and they may not finish until the end of July. We will probably lose a number match dates because of this work. Range Control is having to not allow military units uses of all the ranges around Pedneau too. When I have more information I will let you know.
