Default How late can you hunt black bears

I'm heading for AK the first of June and was wondering how late you can reasonably hunt for black bears? Is there any good black bear areas around Fairbanks or up that way from Tok? Thanks guys for your input.

for what ? Trophy or meat? You can hunt black bears year round in most parts of the state.

Well for both, I guess I wasn't very clear. I am driving to AK for the summer and will be there mid June and didn't know if it would be reasonable to still hunt a bear?

It's always a good time to reduce the predator population.

Middle of June is real good here on the Kenai. They are breeding and are out and about alot more. As far as hide quality it's hit and miss, have seen some nice hides in June. We shot one last night that had pretty good rub on his butt but we wern't planning on eating the hide HaHa.
