    Default Cordova shore fishing?

There's about a 90% chance that I'm going to be working in Cordova all summer. Any tips, locations, pointers on where and what I can fish for from the road system there would be great. I tend to emphasize salmon, but it'd be kind of fun to catch some cutts if possible. Also, any saltwater shore fishing for any species. Hopefully I'll have a car so I can explore what there is to explore there.

    Thanks in advance!

There will be plenty of reds where the eyak crosses the road out to the bridge, i've fished there but never did any good. Lots of little creeks on the road out to million dollar bridge. There used to be some kings(stocked) at hippie cove just a little ways north of the ferry terminal.

+1 for the Eyak lake spillway,, sinking fly line and flies.

Is there a local shop I can buy fishing gear at? What I can travel with is going to be very limited.

There is a tackle/outdoor shop called Whiskey Ridge Trading Company, locally owned. They have a pretty good selection. The road only goes to 36 mile since the bridge there needs to be replaced. Cutthroat in the ponds along the road. Pinks and chums in some waterways around July. Eyak has reds soon and there are special regs within 200 yards of the weir. Pretty much single hooks of the appropriate size and no detachable sinkers. Halibut have been caught off the city dock, but I've never seen anyone have luck along town. Heck, some commercial longliners set gear right in front of town. It won't take too long to figure out the fishing here...there's not a lot of places to go.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I can't really miss the fishing if I drive the road, which is what I was hoping for.
